Naturalmente Terre Siciliane Perricone
Very classy Perricone. I don’t know what to compare this grape to… it is it’s own original grape. When a producer makes her Perricone in a more classic style (not too much extraction or barrel aging), you get a wine that has beautiful balance of structure, fruit and acid.

Aug 29th, 2022Barely breaking the top 20 of grape varieties found in Sicily (also the only place Perricone is found to my knowledge), single variety Perricone isn’t exactly available in abundance, which is a shame because it’s a juicy delight. Tart black cherry is the dominant note. Also black currant, licorice, blueberries, violet with a touch of dried herbs / medicinal / savory quality on the back palate. Medium bodied. Well integrated tannins. Ebullient. Organically farmed. Terrier approved.

Apr 24th, 2021Perricone is maybe my new favorite grape! Very complex but super approachable, this is sweeter than the other I had but with good tannic structure, herbs, berries, and a hint of smoke. Yumz!
