@Delectable Wine this is the 2017 Delaire Graff Estate Cape Winemakers Guild Banghoek Chardonnay.

Our first time every at the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction and we will make sure to come back! (Tasting was on 9/28/18).

Eleventh wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and last still white wine. This is made up of 100% Chardonnay by Morné Vrey from a single vineyard in the Banghoek region of Stellenbosch. Aged for a total of eleven months in second fill barrels prior to bottling. Only 76 cases produced with 50 being auctioned in 2018.

Light greenish yellow. Elegant nose with flowers and citrus zest, followed up by some lemon curd and a little buttery. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and light plus to medium bodied. Crisp and clean with some zangy citrus fruits and a touch of creaminess. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2022.

$$ - Tasted at the Cape Winemakers Auction. Average bid at auction was R2,768.00 ($32.60 a bottle) a case. Highest bid was R3,200.00 ($37.69 a bottle) and lowest bid was R2,600.00 ($30.62 a bottle).
