Popped and poured, the 2019 “Vigna Rionda” pours a brilliant garnet color with medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with fresh red cherries, forest strawberries, tar, some red flowers, some light baking spices. One the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is dry and finishes with a flourish. A baby and yet this is drinking well right now (as many 2019’s are). Drink now with patience so you can enjoy the ride but I expect this will drink well for the next 15+ years.

Apr 29th, 2022Good depth and vibrancy. Dark fruit play alongside the distinctive tar and roses one would expect from this Barolo. An overt wine for its type and certainly pleasurable.

Aug 10th, 2019It took it a while to open up
Truly filling the palate with all the shades a Barolo could have.
Not the best vintage maybe, but drinking at its best
Liquorice is the benchmark for Serralunga 👍👍👍

Dec 4th, 2018Tasting group 1st, my 3rd place. Blind. Aromas mute at first. Air was kind. Bright cherries. Bit of VA. Bitter, tannic, hot. Would rank up.
