Definitely needs air. Plums, red currant, motor oil, soy, slightly lovage, typical rose petals and balsamic flavours. High acidity, resolved tannins, potential for 5-10 years easily.

Strong smell of urine and mould at the beginning that blew away. Cherries were still there but fully integrated and less fruity and tar for days. Was better than expected

1995 vintage. From Jay. 1995 Bartolo Mascarello - Brief Note from Galloni Historical Retrospective Held in London April 26, 2016. This wine is of a much older style. Some hail damage during the season. Eucalyptus on the nose with some rich red fruits. Very shallow on the mid palette. Wine has a washed out feel. Medium minus body. When revisited after 45 mins the wine had improved a bit with time. When revisited for a third time after 60 mins the wine had begun to fade. 92/100. Drink now.
