Caillez-Lemaire
Eclats Brut Nature Champagne Blend
Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Solid producer, no new notes:
Nose has sliced brioche, cut red apple, bruised pear, warm caramel candy and wet limestone.
Palate has quince jam on faintly buttered brioche, bruised yellow apple, dried bread dough with a lingering touch of acidity/minerals with a long finish. Best as it warms and gains more exposure to air.

A very good, no dosage version, of our favorite Champagne. The standard Eclats still clutches our hearts closer though.

Extra dry version on the standard Eclats, almost as good.
Photos of their cellar holding close to 60,000 bottles, intimate.

A great value Brut Nature. Just a beautiful nose. Super mineral, touch of confectionary notes. Even a hint of caramel. Red fruits as well. It's so nuanced and deep and smelling you would never think this is Brut Zero. Palate is so crunchy, silky and nutty with terrific and intense fruit. This shows so well after 2-3 hours and really picks up steam on day 2. There is sap, yeast and a quiet intensity. Utterly delicious. Stunning flavor intensity for an entry level wine.

Feb 10th, 2017@Delectable Wine this is Brut Nature. Sea, salty, oyster, mineral nose. It's like the ocean. Amazing soft mouthfeel which belies the intense minerals on the nose. Juicy and mouthwatering on the finish. Terrific.

Whoa. For 35 this is off the hook. Stinging nose. Rich. Yeasty. Just awesome. Palate is even better. Rich but balanced with sick minerality and great depth. Lovely fleshy fruit tastes. But it all hangs together. Juicy as all get out. There are a bunch of 60ish grower champagnes whose tuchus this wine soundly kicks. Lyle is selling this Friday. Stock up on this I will. Bought from Fass selections.
