What a wine! The fruit is broad, complex and deep. There’s great purity here and a beautifully balanced finish. The wood is perfectly settled to provide a backbone and depth. On the palate this is beautiful... for a 40 year old wine this is awesome and this is an exceptionally good bottle

First Giacosa that seemed like it didn't want to last for the ages. A bit tired but as for Barolo that's ok. All the classic markers were there while morphing into wet leaves.

Opened 1 hour prior to tasting. Beautiful mature Barolo. Looks like red burgundy. Sappy, resiny aromatics with some herbal notes. Lovely balance here. Long finish. Delicious and complete. Enjoyed with Porcini Risotto.

No maggi😇 some flowers in the bouque. However, the taste is impressive: cherries, freshness, so lush and charming, soft tannins, not dry at all. The Master from Piemonte delivers! After half a century, pretty cool👍

A cool, collected nose. Pretty light roses and cherry with a gnarly, darker undertow. Lovely mouthfeel. Clear and precise. Excellent, if young.

I have a soft spot for Giacosa wines, this is no exception. Great bottle!

Still surprisingly youthful. Deep and intense. Lovely, balanced wine with a more muted palate than the others- details of the wine, softer and more resolved. Very good Interesting label. One of the very few of these before the red& white kicked off
