La Maltroie Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

My fave 1er Cru Chassagne vineyard. So good. I always think of umami in a mushroom sort of fashion. Brilliant.

Poised yet boisterous and fierce.

By day three its shed the puppy fat and oak and is showing something of the electricity of the vintage. Nice stuff.

Lemons apples and toast. Nice pepper concentrated mid palate long spicy finish.

Smooth and buttery. Wonderful with roast chicken. The low alcohol allows us to taste the wonderful terroir.

Yum. Lovely nose with intense lemon and stone, soft vanilla and a touch of toast. On the palate, absolutely stunning acidity, so very 14...then sweet meyer lemon, loads of wet stone minerality, and a nice richness to complement. Finish shows the acidity with a bit of tartness, but with our dinner this was fantastic.

Lots of pear & stone fruits, rich feel in the mouth with notes of saline & mineral.
