Day 3: nose really opened up well, with more depth. Cherry preserves, toffee, tar, clove and licorice. Dark red fruit and leather notes prevail on the palate. Super dry, like cotton moth dry. Tart cherry and cranberry are there too. Alcohol spikes a bit. Finish delivers. Solid now, but I’d cellar for at least 5 more years. Opened this 2013 after two bottles of the 2012 were oxidized, one more than the other.
