Broc Cellars
Petillant Wine Mendocino Valdiguié

Excellent! Fresh dry fruit and a very nutty finish. Red-pink color and fine bubbles. With millet-peanut stuffed avocados and harissa salsa. Thanks Broc!

Fried chicken wine! Watermelon, stone, citrus, hint of maraschino cherry, overall good balance with acidity and so easy to drink.

Oct 17th, 2021Very interesting pet nat. There's some creamy peach on the front that makes way for some berries and citrus. It's very effervescent, not too sweet and very enjoyable

Interesting with a bit of age. I made a strawberry rhubarb pie last week and on the nose I get smells of cutting up the rhubarb and strawberries. There is a significant cherry and jolly rancher flavor as well. Just enough acid and river rock to keep it going well. Great on a hot day.

Fruity and effervescent, with a slight savory and meaty flavor on the mid palate. Great sparkling wine.

Broc is the gateway drug to natural wine. He makes very good stuff, but not necessarily innovative or boundary pushing. And for me, his star horse is and always has been Chenin. So it goes with the 2018 Valdiguie Pet Nat. It’s good but not excellent. Fine for fun. Bright pink and candied red fruit, grapefruit, bitter citrus. Jovial and celebratory.

Pushing 80 degree day in Oakland so BBQ and this hour group pet nat valdigue. Tons of berries, but as it opens and warms you get some more floral and earth components. Keeping summer going as long as we can.
