Frei Vineyard & Wirth Ranch Valdiguié

More depth than I was expecting based on the nearly neon magenta color coming out of the bottle. Very fresh, very delicious, tons of juicy fresh plums and berries, dark fruit and a touch of grip on the finish. Totally clean. Can’t really miss drinking Broc with a casual dinner at home.

Fire Island Pines, 2018 kick off. Yes. Fresh, bright, confident, flirty, with a depth that catches you off guard. #FI2018

A bold fruit forward nose, with notes of plum, blueberries, suede, and slight notes of fennel, with medium tannins, and medium body, a long, lingering, peppery and ripe red fruit finish, straw, and vegetal notes.

Let some of these age to see what would happen and this did not disappoint. So complex. Nose of cherries, leather, a bit of spice, honestly seems more like merlot on the nose. The palate is clearly Vladimir with a ton of acidity, bright fruits, cherries, plums, currant, but an underlying herbal quality that is wonderful.

Best valdigue I’ve ever had. It is much darker in color than previous vintages, but this has it all. Big yummy fruit, tight tannins, acidity, herbs, lingers on palate for many minutes. Unbelievable!

Heavy citrus and acidity but all around delicious. 10/10 will buy again.

Valdiguie is what every New California shop has in the display window. Good, but not distinct like what I got from Cruse. Fresh and tart berries.
