This far North gem is a genuine grower-producer Champagne. From the cross section of the chalk protruding from the hill out back, to the old-school basket press, this family collects and produces an excellent cuvée. Stone fruit, chalk driven finish, and a fine bead are just a couple reasons to grab a bottle.

Contrary to Delectable's categorization this wine is pure chardonnay, not a blend. It is none dry, powerfully acidic and has a laser like edge of chalky sharpness. It really needs food to balance the acidity but nothing too strong because the lemon and grassy flavors are surprisingly delicate. A soft cheese woukd be ideal.

This is one of the great finds in the K & L selection of direct import RM Champagnes. It is from old vines found in the the far north of Champagne. Chalky, rich, and bright! Giddy up!

Wonderfully crisp with a chalky core. As about far north you can go and still call your bubbles Champagne!

Such a surprise. Chalky, old vine goodness from very far north in Champagne. I was so intrigued to see the steep cutaway of chalk in the land directly behind the property where this is grown. Old vine, chalky finish. The north has a lot to say.
