More oxygenated than I prefer on my champagne but, nonetheless well made in that style. Bruised apple & pear, some white citrus, soft chalkiness, lots of yeast & bread dough, yellow florals, good acidity and a well polished rich finish.

Thank you Christina for bringing.

This was part of one of the more incredible things I’ve been apart of doing my job. A Bollinger R.D. Master Class with the chef de cave of the winery. Strictly Bolly R.D. designed to show the intricacies of champagne. Two ‘96 vintages, one disgorged 6 months prior, another disgorged 6 years prior. 3 different 2002 vintage R.D.’s with 3 different dosages, 2 of which were made specially for this class. One zero dosage, one at 3 g/l, and another at 8 g/l. 2004 vintage poured 15 mins apart to showcase how the wine shows differently when exposed to just a bit of air. Finally another 2004 bottled in magnum to show how the bottle size can affect the wine. A truly eye opening experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity. Just stellar.

Wayyyyy too young. Lots of oak on the nose. This is a massively endorsed champagne with richness, complexity and fine bubbles. This will be better in 20 years. Big time stuff

Bollinger’s 1982 R.D., disgorged in 1995, makes for a great palate cleanser. Mature, but with enough freshness to drink well for at least another handful of years, the 1982 is a fabulous example of just how well Champagne can age with proper storage. Hints of almond, chamomile, mint, dried pear and baked apple leave a lasting impression in this super-polished, silky Bollinger. The 1982 retains quite a bit of freshness, especially considering it was disgorged more than a decade ago. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2016)

Slightly yeasty, green apple, pear, lemon zest. Bright with racy acidity, vivid but pleasant. Fine bubbles. What a wonderful RD could be!
