Just the other day I was hoping to taste a mature Pintia, and here it is. On the nose, I found brown spices, crushed black cherry, dark earth, rosemary and dried flowers. Soft textures offset by acid-driven black cherry, raspberry and savory spices greeted me on the palate. It finished long with penetrating fruit concentration, hints of gruff tannin and lingering spice. Intense!

From 3L open 24 hours and with about 1/3 remaining.

The color is a deep crimson core, with ruby grading at the edges.
From the glass rose deep aromas of macerated blackberry, black cherry, licorice, and spices, with hints of dried wild flowers, iron and forest floor.

The palate is even better with more depth and a silky, refined structure that is defined by ripe tannins that caress the palate and accentuate the flavors that persist into the long finish.

Exceptional Toro!

2008 Vintage. On the nose, scorched earth, black cherry, tar, menthol, black licorice, sappy herb, violets. The palate is serious, with fig, black cherry, plum, dark chocolate, and balsamic on a large frame. Big acid balances out big tannins, and big alcohol at 15%
