This is a nice 9 year old Gran Reserva from Rioja. Easy drinking, rich and extracted.

Medium plus and body with medium acidity.

Showing black fruits with tobacco leaf, oak, licorice, spices, herbs, earth, vegetables, espresso and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and pomegranates.

Needed a couple of hours to open up properly.

Showing nice complexity now. Will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

100% Tempranillo grapes were aged in French and American oak barrels for 24 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$35.

Aged for 24 months in American and French oak, and cellared for 36 months before release with grapes from its vineyards located in Abalos and other selected estates. Rich bright red with ripe berry fruit aromas and smoky spices. On the palate fresh ripe cherry and blackberry flavors with fine smooth tannins, leather and herbs on tangy acidity. The finish lingers ending with some oak, smoke and mineral tones. Drinks well now, but will continue to improve!

Chewy and wonderful. A nice expression. Some funk but great fruit. A favorite I missed for two years and found tonight in whole foods. #reunited

I really enjoyed this. Thought it would 'need' decanting but it was good to go. We did decant and this went from good to great. American and French oak with good fruit structure. Would buy a case! SS

Potential is there but needs time to integrate, lots of fruit, extract, nice structure, and charm. Anyone have the patience?

Sadly awkward! So much depth & complexity, yet in a brooding state. Sigh. Worth another go in 6-12 months.
