Deep Ruby red color with aromas of berry fruits, spice and herb notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with notes of oak and black pepper notes. Fine soft tannins, nice balance with acidity, medium+ finish ending with fruit, vanilla, oak and slight earthy spice character.

Bright, light, slightly overpowered with eucalyptus. Tart cherry and minimal tannic structure.

Tonight's wine is a wine I have been storing for quite a while. The 2004 Lan Rioja Reserva a Tempranillo blend.

On the nose there is black cherry, prune, fig, black currant, licorice, leather, tar and earth.

On the palate I am getting black cherry, black plum, blackberry, black currant, licorice, tobacco, violets and rich soil.

This wine is medium to full body silky and is still vibrant after this many years with medium minus acidity and medium + fine tannins that lead to a medium to long rustic finish. This weekend has been a wet one and looks to be the same tomorrow. I hope everyone are enjoying themselves, just be safe in wherever you do. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Had another bottle! Founded in 1972, Bodegas LAN was named after the initials of the 3 provinces in the Rioja Designation of Origin: Logrono (now La Rioja) Alava and Navarra. Deep Ruby with red berry aromas and some spice. On the palate tart cherry with cinnamon and vanilla oak flavors with subtle herb notes. Fine tannins, good balance, medium finish ending with earthy leather notes. Nice value. Aged well.

Fresh and vibrant. Strawberry and blueberry, orange peel, mint, chocolate, and coconut, with some secondary leather, tobacco, and earth. Tannins are fully resolved, but just present enough to provide an outline of structure.

Even cheaper Rioja is damn near bulletproof. Real nice. Thanks Greg.
