Deep burgundy in color with a short reddish rim.

Full bodied and soft with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing blackberries, sweet cherries, plums, espresso, sweet cedar, vanilla, spices, cola, tobacco leaf, earth, chocolates, peppercorn and herbs.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and pomegranates.

This is a very tasty Tempranillo from Spain. Still young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly.

A blend of Tempranillo and Graciano. Aged for 24 months in American and French oak barrels.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$30.

Fresh fruit, loads of vanilla and wood, still packing some fun acidity. Lots going on here. A really good wine considering the vintage was not.

Better Spanish wine on the night… on a vintage that was not great for Rioja.

Very well made wine.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim, and a very elegant nose.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a smooth mouthfeel.

Showing red and black fruits with wood, light vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, chocolates, earth, light vegetables and pencil lead.

Spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.

Wine Spectator 92 points.

Will pair nicely with food, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Upon opening the nose was great... but the palette was muted and tight. It took until the third night to open up. And then the Lan was glorious Rioja! At ten years old there is no sign of maturity... and even at 3 nights the finish was clamping down. I’ll bury my other bottle and have the kids dig it up someday.

Fruit forward. Coconuts. A bold and kinda trashy simpleton, but pretty sexy. This wine is like the hot girl at the suburban mall who you know is all surface and no depth but would totally sleep with anyway. #noregrets

Nose of blackberry and leather. Soft and fine tannin with classic finish. One of my favorite Spanish wines at this price range.

Toasted oak, vanilla, leather, herbs, blackberry, beef jerky, chocolate. Nice soft mouthfeel and lingering tannins.

Naturally our first wine on our two-week trip to Italy was Spanish.
