Bodegas Ego
El Goru Gold Monastrell Blend
80% Monastrell, 15% Syrah, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Fantastic fruit and berry profile, enjoy now. If I wasn’t being a host on T-Day, would have been more involved and analytical. Tasty, more please!
93 WS, I agree.

The medium bouquet is dominated by earth, underbrush, black pepper, and some dark fruit. Black berries, plums, and a bit of pepper on the palate. Nicely balanced, but a bit restrained. Medium finish.
Better with a bit of air, although I dont feel this is a wine that needs to age.
WS went 93 pts on this, while most did not seem to love it as much. I'm somewhere in between...
3/21/7/4/3 = 88 pts.

Cherry and raspberry and a hint of spice on the nose, flavor is fruity and sweet, but not cloyingly so. Nice tannins and backbone to support the fruitiness on the front, with a little bit of a pleasantly thorny twist on the finish that shows this wine is not playing around.

May 22nd, 2023Nose: plums, black cherry, baking spices. Fragrant tree sap. A little Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit? Is that clove? The Juicy Fruit image is sticking.
Taste: dark cherry, spice, a dash of tobacco and black-tea-like tannins. Not my preferred varietals, but silky and well made. A surprise. 88-89. I’ll go 89.

Bright, bing cherry color, copious legs on the swirl, subtle notes of chocolate covered cherries on the nose. Easy sipping, dry, cherry pits with hints of plum, smooth tannins on the finish. Pleasant wine with Mexican re-do dinner on the lanai with Tim and Kendra
