This is a dark wine,black cherry red but almost opaque. Black fruit abounds on the nose, joined by notes of anise, mocha, cinnamon and clove. The palate is jammy, with spices and herbs making themselves clearly known. A savory aftertaste lingers on the long finish and the tannins are a bit toothy upon opening, so be sure to decant before serving.

Excellent with seared pork chops and a pan sauce.

Nose of sawn lumber, dill, spice, and red cherry. Flavors of red cherry, leather, and pomegranate are backed by medium tannins. Finishes medium with juicy red fruit. Very nice.

This very dark wine has such a rich nose it’s almost enough just to smell it. Almost. Aromas of black currant and blueberries are colored up nicely by all the oak. Clove notes are sweet and - incredibly - not overpowering. The palate is brawny and full of dark fruit. It’s loaded with minerals and acidity and firm tannins - just waiting for an unsuspecting ribeye to come along.

The Beronia Rioja Reserva is a dark garnet in the glass, with a nose of black cherries and plums, abetted by leather, vanilla and a nice oak spice. The palate is rustic and savory, age showing already. Black fruit tangles with tobacco and earth notes. There’s a good tannic structure and a lengthy, savory finish. Pair it with pork, sausages and Manchego cheese.

AROMAS: dark fruits, herbs, candied roasted vanilla, a hint of fresh baked cherry crumble. Cassis, cerise, fig, plum, leather, cedar
TASTE: med to med high acidity, med tannins, med to full bodied, nicely balanced. Cerise and toasted vanilla, great undergrowth notes and black red fruits. Simply superb.
-decant 30 min to longer, tasting throughout.
-storage, now to 10 years
