Monthly WTF wine group. Special event this month as Ben provided all ‘80s Napa cabs. A few of us chipped in and provided some whites/bubbly.

Nice bottle from
@Andrew Heffley ! Didn’t know they did a chard. Lots of lemon and lime...more tart than rich. Floral too.

Mineral nose, more fruit and oak on the palate. Only 20% new oak but it shows, and in a good way as it integrates well with the fruitier palate.

Well balanced, with pronounced buttery oak yet escaping the nasty popcorn aromas usually associated with overtly ambitious New World Chards. Lovely presence of fruit where the citrusy spine offers freshness to its offensive, tropical fruit cocktail flavors.

Notes of subtle butter, peaches, some citrus. Quite tight & young. Great balance between ftuit, tannins & acid. Creamy.

Aged in French oak. Must be new. Not obnoxious like American oak, but if the grapes from these two vineyards are so good, I can't understand why new oak is used. Why sacrifice the fruit for wood? Barrels should give body and structure, not steal the show.
