Pretty soft and full bodied for a Chianti.

What I’ve found out regrettably about Gran Selezione Chianti is that it’s bigger, rounded , heavier and ultimately less Chianti like and more full body red wine like. Ironic if you taste it and sad if you care about the place and characters made in a place that you care about .

On nose its floral aromatique, berries, sour cherries, licorice, and some spices as well.

On palate, wine is semi bodied, Medium acidity, smokiness, structure is firm and full of intensity, integrated tannis, cherries, plums.

This Chianti GS is truly singing. Deeper aromatic layers embedded in red fruit

At Bird &Jim again . . . .an excellent restaurant and this was a recommendation that was superb. While I wouldn’t normally choose a chain it Classico to go with steak this was great.

Full bodied, very ripe cherries and strawberries. Well incorporated oak, finish of vanilla, dark chocolate and warm spices.
