Syrah is so versatile... This doesnt taste like rhone or Australia and is unique. Lots of densely packed black fruits and some meatiness in the background. Good amount of that rustic italian acidity.

Wood and earth notes. Mushroom notes even. Some flower notes showing through. Touches of vinilla back a tangy spice note. Overall smooth and easy while still having body amd spice.

Cortona DOC 2011, 14%. In my opinion this was one of the best italian Syrah that I ever tasted: lovely purplish color, excellent nose, smooth and rich in the mouth.

All I can say is that it is amazing! And at about $48 here, it is probably 15 or 20 at a grocery store. Not bad at all!

Tobacco, wood, and leather on the nose. Dark spice notes ---allspice--- with vanilla bean on the palate followed by a hint of light mushroom and terroir. There are some light tannins that open up with a bit of time.
