Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Dusty cherry, violets and dried herbs. Young but approachable. Modern style Brunello.

Strawberry, raspberry, and minerality! Great acid and body. Great with cioppino.

Spicy licorice with a lovely velvety finish.

A good use of oak across the entire range of Banfi in 2010-2011. Very classic in style and true Sangiovese character. Excellent!

Probably held onto this bad boy a little long, as could tell it was just on the verge of turning… but still impressive. Earthy, dark cherry, plum dominated.

We had the 2011 Vintage On 1/1-2/19. Red fruit and rose petals on the bouquet. Raspberry, strawberry, vanilla and oak on the palate. Medium bodied wine, smooth finish, Old World feel.

Damn my patience, or rather, lack thereof. Dense wine that of course opened up towards the end of the bottle. Cherry and currant with some blue fruit notes. Round and just starting to integrate.
