Troncone Toscana Sangiovese

This is a solid Toscana Rosso - bright cherry fruit with aromas of violet, red plum, forest floor, wild strawberry and cedar, medium tannin, medium alcohol, crisp acidity; medium body and clean, with a good balance of fruit with acidity and alcohol. Good length on the palate. Very nice with food.

Great wine for Saturday nights with high end Costoletta alla Milanese. Tuesday works too!

Delicate and lovely. Earthy, barnyard aromas. Dusty tea flavors with iron mineral notes and pretty red fruit. Lighter than most Sangiovese.

Took hours to open up apparently. Lots of tertiary development. Drink now.

Light and fragrant, almost fragile red fruit aromas and foto flavours, with a stony component on the elegant finish. Great Q/P ratio. Sangiovese for PInot Noir fans.

久しぶりのテイスティング。
昔飲んだときは、薄旨い感じが良くて好きなワインだったのだが、モンタルチーノの標高制限が撤廃されたおかげで、モンタルチーノ以外のサンジョベーゼも使って作られるようになったという、全く別物なワイン。
アルコール度数はなんと12.5度。
なんというか全くパッとしたところがないワインになってしまっていた。
旨味も、果実味も、タンニンも、酸もどれかにフォーカスした訳ではなく、全てフラットな感じ。
色々値上がって当たり前の昨今、値段もほぼ変わってない感じだし、これまでのトロンコーネを求めてはいけないワインだった。

Always a great value that’s essentially a rosso that doesn’t follow doc rules. This vintage is maybe slightly thinner than past vintages. Still quite nice.

Nose of ripe red plums & Licorice spice. Raspberry & strawberry fruit with lots of tangy bright acidity.

Young yet, still stout tannins at the front. Well structured.

Light and delicious. Jason said we would love this with our Christmas Eve bolognese. It did not disappoint.
