Aurelio Settimo
Rocche dell'Annunziata Barolo Nebbiolo
A bit dilute. Perfume is more herbal than floral. Opened up in the glass.

Hard to find a Barolo more texturally Pinot-like
A bit of cherry, plenty of rose petals; cinnamon, cloves and graphite
Tar and ink
Long finish, solved tannin and very smashable 🎼🎼🎼
Not for the long haul

Fortunate to get this 2010 from Tiziana at the winery. Can age further, but delicious now. Ample sublime tannins, balanced acid, tangerine peel, white flowers, leather, cola, sour cherries... fantastic.

Chalky minerality on palate, fine grained, grippy tannins, great harmony and spicy orange deliciousness. Shows well the softer side of this exuberant vineyard, and of barolo, and exudes excellent balance with a combination of sweet cherry fruit, sophisticated tannin, and zesty acids. Could use more mid-palate punch, but nevertheless a buy and a keeper for 8-12 years. $58.

Sep 28th, 2015Great form. But if you own this wine, give it a few more years. For me, tea and black pepper are dominant but there's also leather and licorice, and some stuff I've missed.

Jul 3rd, 2015Brooding, dark and unforgiving. Raspberries, wilted mint, and licorice. It's a good (not great) barolo, but lacks a bit of complexity and finesse for the money-- and also comes across chunky and slightly oxidized.
