Very enjoyable. Bright, punchy and lifted. Notes of lemon meringue, almonds and honey. Nice example

There is an exception to every review...AVA designation showed extremely well. I found the acid to be nicely balanced complementing the oak treatment. I can’t think of a better everyday drinker in the Chardonnay category. Solid 94, no questions.

Fell victim to experiment. I’ve never had Aubert’s Carneros bottle and curiosity got the best of me. At 15%ABV...wow! My first thought at pop and pour was...did I open a SauvBlanc? The acidity on this was insane. In fact, it retained this even after an hour of being open. More nuttiness on this than fruit, though not as intense as the note I get on all Ritchie Chardonnays. Cashew and toasted almond. The ABV wasn’t easily detected, and had a nice weight on the palate. Finish was quite dominant of limestone, stone fruits and miscellaneous mineral driven notes. The oak and vanilla comes through at the very end, but not overwhelming. The one trait I get with Aubert’s SV Chardonnays is lemon cream and while this didn’t have that, it was unique on it’s own. I’d hold for another 2-3 years due to acidity.

Not as complex as their single vineyard wines but still delicious. It did take a little time to open up.

Highly elegant, not power chard...not what I expected from Carneros...slightest bit cloudy and almost effervescent at the front end

Confirmed I really enjoy their chards. Made me signup to their list.

Figured I’d pull one as a delivery arrived and this (appellation Aubert) seems to be a hot topic on here recently. Opened like a sauv blanc almost and took time to show itself but was nice.

I found it enjoyable but I understand the QPR argument. It’s priced close enough to the single vineyard so may not be worth it.

Much more 2014 than 2013 ☹️

Color hazy; due to cloudy sediment but nose is very complex with tropical fruits and muted vanilla overtones. In the mouth the fruit is rich, fruity, and smooth. A blockbuster wine with huge alcohol (15.2%) which is not appreciated in the initial tasting. I would consume this in its youth and first 5 years due to the fruit balancing the alcohol.
