Drank 2/21/19. Tasting event. Tasting pour.
Apple, lemon, and some mineral notes on the nose. Lemon curd, and more minerality on the palate. Very well balanced. Subtle oak medium to long finish.

I thought this was money. Montagny rarely wows me, but this hits you from all angles - acid, fruit, texture, cream. It’s all there and all in balance. Soft baked apple and honey aromas, with a soft minerally palate. Great value.

Somewhat uni-dimensional, but nicely focused. Minerals and lemon curd. Acidity slightly out of balance at the moment. Likely needs a few more years to settle.

Pale straw hue with moderate tearing. Nose has fresh citrus, lemon peel, and ripe cantaloupe notes. White flowers, such as lily and gardenias. Delicate buttery aromas. Crisp on palate with more pronounced wet slate and stone elements alongside fresh stone fruit and citrus. Medium finish. Vintage 2015. 13.5% ABV. #grandvindebourgogne #montagny #aupieddumontchauve #whiteburgundy #chardonnay #oldworld #côtechalonnaise

Montagny is southern-most commune of Cote Chalonnaise. It has a whopping 49 premier crus so it might not mean much if Montagny Premier Cru on the label. Yet this bottle is really good. Apple, pear, honeysuckle, pomelo, and touch a gunpowder. Round and refined palate with fresh acidity and some oak spice to lift the finish.
