Bright yellow gold. Baked quince, honeysuckle, and ripe red apple on the abundant nose. Full palate of baked quince, balsa wood, and a hint of raw vanilla and white pellet on the finish. Medium plus acidity. I call this the “baby Meursault” as it delivers much of the weight and complexity of its higher end sibling at a more everyday price. Drink now through 2027 with roasted chicken, swordfish, or other hearty white wine fare.

Bright beige yellow. Inviting nose of overripe red apple and and balsam. Medium full palate yields baked apple, dried white flowers, balsam, and a hint of white pepper back-palate to finish. I’m sensing a bit of oak on this, but in that classic unobtrusive French way. Lively medium plus acidity underneath it all makes for a fantastic white to accompany fish, poultry, shellfish, or medium cheeses. An imminently satisfying Premier Cru white at a great price. “The foot of Montrachet” continues to impress. Drink now through 2024.

Drank 2/21/19. Tasting event. Tasting pour.

Apple, lemon, and some mineral notes on the nose. Lemon curd, and more minerality on the palate. Very well balanced. Subtle oak medium to long finish.

I thought this was money. Montagny rarely wows me, but this hits you from all angles - acid, fruit, texture, cream. It’s all there and all in balance. Soft baked apple and honey aromas, with a soft minerally palate. Great value.

Palate: off dry, medium acid, medium alcohol? 14%; medium body, medium plus flavor intensity, primary flavirs/aromas: lemon, banana, melon, apple; secondary:butter, vanilla, cream, tertiary: dried apple/dried banana; very good quality, can drink now but has potential for aging

Nice viscosity and acidity. Rich. Pear, lemon meringue, subtle salinity. Nice medium long finish. Rather enjoyable with grilled miso tuna

Somewhat uni-dimensional, but nicely focused. Minerals and lemon curd. Acidity slightly out of balance at the moment. Likely needs a few more years to settle.

Pale straw hue with moderate tearing. Nose has fresh citrus, lemon peel, and ripe cantaloupe notes. White flowers, such as lily and gardenias. Delicate buttery aromas. Crisp on palate with more pronounced wet slate and stone elements alongside fresh stone fruit and citrus. Medium finish. Vintage 2015. 13.5% ABV. #grandvindebourgogne #montagny #aupieddumontchauve #whiteburgundy #chardonnay #oldworld #côtechalonnaise
