Rich dark fruit, liquid smoke and toast, would be interesting to pair this with B.B.Q and give it a few hours of air. But smoke dominated the palate

Given big #URU win over #ENG today, I think some Tannat is in order. Luckily, we had this tasty @Artesanawinery on hand.

Great red from Uruguay. Big black fruit aromas. Full and ripe fruit flavors of blackberries and plums. Big note of juniper berries. Hints of herbs and just the right amount of oak. Rich and velvety texture. Did not have the big tannin structure I was expecting. Blending in 30% Merlot is a great move. Really softened the big Tennat tannin reputation. Outstanding vino!

Big, inky and dark with nose of leather, chocolate, spices, a bit of smoke, and jammy blueberries and blackberries. Bold, rich, and fruit-forward on the palate with an up-front bitterness that is smoothed over in the finish.

Never had a wine from Uruguay and I'm impressed. Young and thin on the pallet but Merlot flavor and worth trying.

Gorgeous Tannat blend from Uruguay, up and coming wine region. Richard Jennings gave it a 91+. Sold in fine wine shops in California. $20-23
