Old Vine Heinstein Vineyard White Blend

An oddball field blend but it’s a gem. A little bit reminiscent of an Alsatian Riesling but warmer. Viscous in the mouth but lots of cut. Tart green apple, grapefruit, chamomile, almond, rubber, dried grass

One of the last of its kind

North Coast Gemischter Satz. Aromatic and weighty and sappy and delicious when thoroughly chilled, fat and blowsy and uninteresting as it warms. So drink it cold and love it!

Fat with a Gentil character. Heavy feel. Hoping for something racy and mineral driven. Good drink with food though.

Not your swiss sylvaner-riesling, this has a rich mouthfeel and slight pungency. Great for a warm afternoon.

"61 year old dry-farmed white field blend of Sylvaner, Riesling and an assortment of other obscure varieties planted in fluffy white volcanic soils at the base of the western flank of Mount Veeder in the Sonoma Valley. Whole cluster pressed, fermented with native yeast in stainless steel, and aged in neutral French oak barrels for 10 months."

Quite good. Good acidity, floral, complex, some honey notes though dry. Seems like a year did this good though it’s got plenty left.
