A tasty Barolo imported from a recent trip to Italy.

A stunning 100% Sangiovese Grosso. The 2011 is absolutely seductive, with gorgeous aromas of fresh black fruits, ripe cherries, roasted coffee, exotic spices, floral, smoke, earthy notes, which all come together and explode from the glass. It possesses a beautiful rich, velvety texture, while demonstrating impeccable balance and finesse, dazzling all the way through the finish. Today, this is very accessible and already has so much to offer, but it will also age gracegully for those willing to wait.

I had this gem laying around and didn’t pay attention to it. I thought it was too old. The color is still purple, the nose smells like eucalyptus and the finish is silky silky smooth. This has many years left in the tank. Ya never know.

Nice old vine Sangiovese...hint of Brett and oak, but a beautiful wine with many years ahead of it.
