4 people found it helpfulDec 29th, 2016Really nice Spanish blend from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. 80/20 Tempranillo/Cab Sauv. Earthy and leathery organics on the nose with nice fruit on the pallet. Well constructed wine. Could age a bit longer. Revisited in January 2021. Still quite good. Organics and oak are dominating the fruit but tannins are very soft and the finish is quite velvety. Body and color seem a little light (considering their is some Cabernet Sauvignon blended with the Tempranillo). Give this one a good decant before drinking.

2 people found it helpfulNov 18th, 2017I was able to attend another Wednesday Wine Committee this week and it did not disappoint (they never do). As normal, all wines are tasted blind (1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert).
I was very close to guessing this correct. Couldn't decide between an Italian brunello or Spanish Tempranillo. The nose needed some time, but after an hour, it was a dead ringer for Spanish Tempranillo...the American oak nose of coconut and dill were very pronounced. Very green/herbal like on the finish. This one caused the most confusion out of all the reds.

But it’s aged 10 years. And it tastes like it’s a 2015.
Spain is weird man.

1 person found it helpfulOct 25th, 2020Hmmm...this wine is bit enigmatic for me. The color is deep ruby and bright. The alcohol moderate. The nose is black fruit centric with spices. The taste is very closed, very initial flavor on the first taste fresh out of the bottle. It takes a few hours for it to really open up. The tannins are pronounced from beginning to end, which gives it good structure. The acidity is moderate, not a flabby wine but seems very dry. The spice and leather flavors eventually come through, and there are some subtle herb notes.
