Old-school hint of barnyard funk in the nose. Not enough for any concern, and it plays nicely with tangy, zingy macerated cherry and spice. A bit of crushed stone. Rapier-like acids propel the fruit along. Tannins are very soft. (Thanks to my brother @Angelo Casagrande for the gift!)

Nov 16th, 2024Plummy, earthy nose doesn’t show much. But the palate is expansive and rich, with classic earthy Novarese Nebbiolo flavors. Great with polenta and meat sauce.

Full and mouthfilling, with nice purity of ripe, macerated cherry fruit. Nice acids and youthful but soft tannins. Great now with a tagliatelle in a rich meat sauce, but will improve for up to 5 more years.

1 person found it helpfulJan 12th, 2021A rush of sweet red cherry, tobacco, mint, dried flowers and cedar hits the palate as this racy, deep, beautifully proportioned Nebbiolo shows off its considerable allure. Readers will have a hard time finding a wine from any region that delivers this much pleasure and character for the money. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2020)
