Amavi Cellars
Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
This is the wine we opened yesterday evening the 2009 Amavi Cellars Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. From Walla Walla, Washington I have always been very impressed with this winery. I have not had a bad wine from here since Gary Vaynerchuk reported on the 2007 a number of years ago and I rushed out to buy it on his recommendation. I have several vintages in my cellar and I believe at least one more 2007.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, licorice, leather, menthol, herbaceous notes and dark soil.
On the palate is black cherry blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, spice, herbaceous and dark tilled earth.
This wine is full bodied smooth full mouthfeel medium+ acidity and medium + well integrated fine grained tannins the move seamlessly into a long dark fruit herbaceous dark soil finish. Here we are again on the precipice of our nations birthday. It is time to reflect on where we are in our lives and where we are going as a nation. I wish everyone a wonderful 4th of July long weekend since the 4th falls on Tuesday this year and I am sure many of us will be taking an extra long weekend. Enjoy yourselves and please be respectful of one another. Stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Nov 11th, 2022Deep ruby in color with a short purplish rim.
Fruity nose with black currants, blueberries, wood, vanilla, spices, vegetables, herbs, earth, black pepper, dust and graphite.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with black plums, blueberries, currants, vanilla, wood, spices, peppercorn, dark coffee, tobacco leaf, earth, bitter herbs, spices and vegetables.
Medium plus in finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice Cabernet based Bordeaux blend from Walla Walla Valley. Earthy with mild complexity and a soft mouthfeel.
Needs an hour to open up properly.
Good by itself and better with food. I paired it with a cheese with truffles, and it was very enjoyable together.
Feels like a blend of old world and new world wine. Would be interesting to see it develop in the next few years.
A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. Aged in mostly French oak barrels (28% new).
14.5% alcohol by volume.
88 points.

Hello everyone, I have gone back tonight to a wine that I have liked for a long time. I have opened the 2015 Amavi Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon from the Walla Walla Valley a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
On the nose there are notes of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, cedar, vanilla, rose petals, pencil lead, forest floor and a bit of minerality.
At first sip brings back a rush of memories of the first Amavi Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon and floods my mind to over flowing. The notes on the palate are of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, cedar, herbs, a bit of oak and a good earthiness.
This wine is full bodied that is well balanced with medium + acidity and medium + mouth gripping tannins that lead to a long dusty earth and dark fruit finish. I am very happy with this wine and at the price point I bought this at.plan on purchasing a few more. Have a great week, be safe and enjoy wine. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷
