Altesino became the first Montalcino estate to introduce the concept of "cru" wines, made with a special selection of grapes from a single vineyard. Enticing Ruby with ripe fruit aromas and earthy tones. On the palate cherry, blackberry and plum flavors with cacao, licorice and leather notes. Lingering finish, refined tannins ending with chewy earthy notes. Great now but will get better. Wow!

May 16th, 2017Sweet fruit, sweet spices, bloody, leather, tobacco. Mid bodied, quite good sense of chalkness, fine grained tannins but there is a supper annoying sweetneess that bothers me.
