Riserva Mimuèt Alto Adige Pinot Noir
Fair dollop of oak here, cold cream nose with purple flowers, plenty of nutmeg, juicy sour cherries and a very slight meaty note. This has good structure, fine crunchy acids and good mineral flow. Wanted more power in the mid-palate and clarity of flavors however, this will age well i'd expect over the next 10 years, perhaps a bit out of character now. Still, I could do without the creaminess of the wood. Drank best the 3rd day, and is worth watching for $30, give it a few more years.

Sep 3rd, 2015Red fruit sweetness (nose), but: it's very dry, high acidity (obvious). Leather and dark chocolate made this pinot. Very good.
My second pinot from this producer. Previous: 2017.

Starts off mellow & soft with red berries, a bit of damson plum, a whiff of moss & tree bark, a hint of blood orange. Some cherry appears after a bit of time. Warm, v. pleasant, engaging, with a tiny bit of reduction.
On the palate this is soft, mellow, even a bit plush yet without the weight. In fact, this seems weightless. Some stewed red fruit, the tannins fine, soft, tea like, the cherry acidity balancing nicely. Plus there’s a nice savoury herby note.
With time this gains in complexity and airiness.
A nice Pinot.
