In a great place. Confectionary nose of woodland berries, gorgeous Burgundian wet earth and sweet, earthy dirt. Wonderful. Some mid season cherries as well. Palate is lean, sweet fruited and fresh. Great complexity and big but balanced and pure tannins. A classic 14. Grippy and expressive but ideally better with food. Lovely length.

My favorite Valtellina producer. Consistently exemplary wine. Medium intensity nose of great purity: dark cherry, alpine rocks, brambly underbrush. Lean but with intense dark cherry fruit in the front half of the palate, transitioning to intensely refreshing cracked rock minerality. Very nice acidity and lots of fine-grained chalky tannin. Will only get better over the next 5 years.

Dec 1st, 2019Last bottle of this vintage. Such a beautiful wine. Still holding up, but the intense youthful cherriness is now receding a bit into the background of tertiary notes. Lots of rocks and dried rose petals and a bit of old barrel. So composed but flavorful. Drink up if you have any.

Wow. Amazing. Perfect Nebbiolo spice. Great cherry fruit. Some cherry pit. Amazing balance. A hint of licorice on the finish. Bought from Fass selections.

Woodsy berries, wild cherries, herbs, rosehip, beach plum. This is so pretty and textured - and light- and there’s a hint of barnyard that accentuates the elegance. Clarity and lightness. A subtle bitter finish and modest tannins. Pairs perfectly with late summer fare.

Old library and book aromas. Smells like a old academic’s study. Awesome. Palate is deep, rich and so so pure. Wow. Super explosive and rich fruit (2013!!) and incredible layered depth. Such length and persistence with deep red and black cherry fruit and terrific freshness. Really high quality tannins here. Brilliant.
