Alban Estate Vineyard Roussanne

Soapy at open. Was a little flat then about 30 mins in the aromatics took over and it began to show some body.

Outstanding.

Despite the 15.3% alc. this is very well balanced and should easily hold up for several more years.

2012, this is nothing short of amazing. Lemon zest and Graham Cracker. Hint crushed almond on the finish. Killer

Quite oxidised and sherry-like. Nutty and yeasty, past it, but fun.

Much better than the 2013! Floral citrusy aromas with spicy undertones. Smooth unctuous mouthfeel.

When you want something different. I think Alban across the board is underrated.

Solid vintage, inky purple color, blackberry, leather & pepper on the nose and dark fruits and leather to taste. Delicious!

Awesome. Just awesome.

Apparently March 12 is a little-known holiday called Roussanne and Stogies. Who knew? Anyway, I don’t smoke but I definitely do roussannes. The 2014 Alban is drinking incredibly well right now. Rich, deep golden yellow color, aromas of white flowers and honeysuckle with a hint of petrol on the edge, the wine is rich, oily, and seamless on the palate with a nice, lingering finish. First rate.
