Had 2015 a year or so ago and it was wonderful. This 2014 is even better on all levels. May 2025: just opened a 2021 and besides that being a stellar year, this wine hit all the marks on its own.

Needed more time to open up. It did not open up much in the decanter and large glass over 2-3 hours as I was having it. Maybe try decanting 4 hrs. Overall at 7-8 yrs old, it seems to be fine and could likely go many more years.

Likely 2030 would be a better time to open this wine. Very powerful, very intense at this age. Must be consumed with steak because it is too strong otherwise. Fortunately I had this Cabernet Sauvignon with filet mignon from Smith & Wollensky and it was a very nice pairing. Smooth and elegant finish. But attack is overwhelming fruit power and thus not complex.

Big smooth Cab from Atlas Peak. Perfectly drinkable. Superb with salmon on a cold Saturday night in Palo Alto. Enjoyed with my wonderful & amazing Rafael!

Blackberry and currant, dirt, leather, pencil shavings. Classically styled, fresh with fine tannins, good depth and length, perfectly balanced.

Dark and chewy. The fruit on its own became something meatier and a different kind of chili powder expression when combined with steak poivre. Delicious and thick with heavy flavor.
