Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Here is a yummy one.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Still very young, but already enjoyable, even by itself.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Showing black fruits with cedar, licorice, chocolates, vanilla, spices, tobacco, coffee, peppercorn and light earth.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
Another great wine from Mike Smith. Spicy, rich and extracted. Very tasty.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
This 6 year old, from the great 2016 vintage, will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 22 months.

Closed aromas leaning towards cassis and blackberries. Fine, focused and extremely pure texture. Smooth finish with espresso and bitter cocoa. Definitely early, this wine will age for awhile. Lives up to top tier Rutherford quality.

Jan 30th, 2017Backberry, subtle fennel, cedar and hints of green pepper and olive near the end. Lots of tannins. Tasted best on day three with food. I will hold off for now on the others. Should do well.
