Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Really a very nice Napa Cabernet from a great vineyard site in a good drinking place age wise. On cork pop the oak was too overbearing - that sort of oaky sweetness that I don’t care for. But decanted for a couple hours as a result and quite nice after that. Deep violet in the glass. Deep dark fruit notes. Unmistakably Napa, for sure. Some glycerin feel. But a long finish with just enough acid to keep it together. I don’t often drink Napa cab, but on a fall day with burgers it’s hard to complain. — 9 days ago

Domaine de Puy Redon

Chardonnay 2015

Made in Bordeaux but played like a Burgundy. Ripe fruit, rich texture, fine barrel integration, holding its pants even at a temperature around 10-12c.. considerable length - over 20 seconds. Price as jumped since last vintage, so did the quality. This wine can bluff a Burgundy amateur in blind tasting that's for sure; it does feel like a wine from Puligny. — 3 years ago

Bodegas Fulcro

Finca A Pedreira Rias Baixas Albariño 2014

The Rias Baixas Albariño with most character we have produced yet. The minerality and saltiness adds a depth to the classic fruity acidity and flowery tones of the region. Best drunk slightly "warm" 10-12C, as opposed to the recommended temperature for other regional wines (4-6C). Think of a stormy autumn night off the Rias Baixas coast, you'll feel the saltiness and sharp pine citrus of the maresía, the minerals of the earth and the chill in your bones. — 5 years ago

Abbazia di Novacella (Stiftskellerei Neustift)

Alto Adige - Valle Isarco Riesling

Fruity, citrus, light, minerally acidic and salty. It is matched with sea food. It is good not in >12C. @900, Selco - Kawak, 190211-190301 — 2 years ago

Becklyn Cellars

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Well, another Mike Smith wine; another stunner. Couldn't wait. Based on this one I'm going deep on the G3 12C. These are serious, complex, age worthy wines at a great price (for Napa and the single vineyard, and the quality of fruit and genius winemaking). — 5 years ago

Maison Dampt

Les Clos Grand Cru Chablis Chardonnay 2014

A new Les Clos producer to me that’s a decent drop for £59 but feels it needs more time as very dry & mineral laden today which will be perfect for some 😉 I prefer William Fevre Les Clos for 💵😁 better @ 12C - decant 2hrs to free this wine 👍 Age will reward here 😉

📍 Maison Dampt Les Clos Chablis 2014

🏵 94-95 points

Not pretentious, light, easy. Goes great with meat and fish. I like it relatively cold, about 12C... Some people like it warmer. Ideal with fresh French food in Paris! — 4 years ago
