Segromigno Dry Creek Valley Sangiovese Montepulciano 2012

The 2012 was something new to me. I have never had a blend of montepulciano and Sangiovese before but it was very enjoyable. You get a nice combination of smoke and rich dark fruits aromas. Tasting complemented the aromas with dark fruits, cherries and some spice. Maybe a hint of licorice and a taste of earth. It finished well making you desire the next sip. I think it would be great with a cheese plate which I will try next time. It is well worth a try and could be a nice change of pace when you are looking to explore different blends. #untivineyards #sonoma #segromigno — 5 years ago

Dry Creek Valley Sangiovese 2012

I had the 2012, this is an interesting Sangiovese from the start you will smell some plum notes and a bit of floral dancing around (I am not good enough at deciphering what type flower to be exact), however as it decants it changes to rich cherries and spices. This drank well, with favors to me of dark cherry, some tobacco and oak. There also is a touch of fresh soil. The tannins finish nicely in your mouth. It is not an old world example but in this case it is a good thing. This makes a great casual evening choice. #untivineyards #sonoma #healdsburg #sangiovese — 5 years ago
