So, for this holiday season, I picked up a couple of bottles from total wine - a holiday world trip via wine, if you will. The Albariño grape is thought to be a distant cousin to Riesling, however, this white grape loves the heat. The Rías Baixas area of Spain is located on the southwestern coast of Galicia, Spain - just north of Portugal. Albariños are typically light bodied, acidic, and dry wines. ~$15 (2014 vintage) | #totalwine #albarino #spanishwhitewine
On the eyes: Light yellow, starbright, transparent. Light stain, light tears. No gas/floc.
On the nose: Ripe green apple and lime with hints of cashew. A bit of surf on the nose with Med- alcohol.
In the tongue: Med+ acid, med tannin, med- alcohol, round mouthfeel. Green apple swimming in a citrus bath with a slight nutty herbaceous undertone. Weak finish. Drink this one cold! — 9 years ago
Fantastic wine. I really wanted to show off #spanishwhitewine to some friends who were visiting and boy did this deliver. #valdeorras #whiteburgundy style #godello — 8 years ago
