Consistent tasting notes compared to the 2015. Tangerine, apples, apricot, beeswax, honeysuckle, and rose water. Acidity stays relevant within its medium plus body. Viognier can be so versatile.

Warm raspberries, ripe black cherries, blueberries, black olives, spearmint, sweet tobacco leaf, graphite, and clove. Crazy ripe fruit on the bouquet, juicy mid-palate, finish that’s covered in dark chocolate and yerba maté, and all wrapped up in supple tannins. New world nose with an old world finish.

Muscular and smoky, established ripe strawberries and raspberries sneak up on a core of campfire and smoked paprika. Aggressive without being overbearing or in any way extracted. Showing balance after getting more air. Nice stylistic approach for Cab Franc.

Typically using these grape varietals to make White Port, but on their own, still, are super energetic. The palate is extremely lively and vibrant. Lime and lemon pith, tart Granny Smith apple, kiwi core, celery stalk, honeycomb, white orchid, white pepper, wet slate, shaved rock, and saline all over the place. The finish holds on to your palate. Great concentration and acidity. Saw two months on the lees, which gives it some body and structure. Cheers to spring!

Lemon, lime, almonds, and saline. High acid and palate cleansing. Simple. Cuts through just about anything.

Food and table wine for sure. High acid with chewy tannins. Typical old world sangoviese showing sour cherries, red currants, blue berries, roasted red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, leather, and potpourri. Simple but true expression.

Lovely smoky finish with that bold fruit preserve aroma. Definitely dacant for optimal enjoyment. #nakedwines — 6 years ago
Truly representative of what Napa can pump out. Sweet and fresh blackberry, plum, and cassis fruit overlaid with shaved dark chocolate and wintergreen. However, the essence of the wine stays covered in new leather and spice cake. There is also a noticeable fleshiness that shows up after a considerable amount of air. Firm structure that reveals charming character. Delicious. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Petit Sirah. @Christy Fitzgerald, I know you’ve had this before, but something you should revisit.

Highly aromatic and full bodied. Sitting at 14.5% alcohol. Actually hides it quite well. The heart of this wine reveals sweet pear, ripe peach, grilled pineapple, and honeyed ginger, finishing into mandarin oranges and spicy beeswax. Some residual sugar, but compliments the overall spirit of this wine. Props to the central coast!

Big wine. Blackberry cobler, black cherry compote, sweet plums, cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate, and sun drenched leather... This is definitely a heavy hitter done right that screams new world.

Fresh acidity, pronounced minerality, centered creamy apples, lemons, and apple blossom. Smart polished style and body. Seems almost effortless. 14.5% alcohol is shocking. No heat whatsoever. Palate stays clean and covered without getting fatigued.

Very reminiscent of a Crianza. The palate is super pretty, leaning on blueberry cobbler, black cherries, sugarplums, rose petals, bay leaves, pastrami, wood burner, chocolate, vanilla, and sweet tobacco. The mid-palate and finish are loaded with sweet fruit. Tannins are quite round. Tempranillo has something to say in Clarksburg.

Black cherries, dark chocolate and oak spice. #nakedwines — 6 years ago
Sour bing cherry, inky raspberry sauce, dried leaves, dill, pencil lead, and dirty tobacco. Strong mid-palate that doesn’t get overpowered by oak or heat. Wise choice to age this in a blend of large French casks and new American oak. Develops restrain and youthfulness. Drinking a baby here.

Explodes on the palate. Cranberry and creamy sour cherry progresses into underbrush, mushroom, iris and cigar box. The nose gets fleshy and herbal. Rosemary shows strength on the finish. Fine-grained tannins are alluring and persistent. Juicy on the mid-palate... changing in the glass. Nice finesse, balanced... took me by surprise.

Solid example of Willamette Pinot Gris: accelerated minerality with pronounced and concentrated fruit. An abundance of pear, white peach, lemon, mace, saline, and soaked concrete on the nose. Styled to cleanse and refresh your palate.

Passion fruit, yellow grapefruit, white peach, lime, arugula, gooseberry, grass, chalk, and saline. Bracing acidity that shows brightness on the palate. There’s a big fruit ripeness that is balanced and lifted. Mouth watering and filling all the way to the finish.

Smooth integration of oak. Well balanced, finishing with mocha, bitter chocolate, and nutmeg. The nose climbs out on notes of cassis, leather, wet rocks, and perfume. You really don’t have to think and contemplate life on this one.

Blackberry pie, black raspberry sauce, 5-spice, clove, black licorice, burnt brown sugar, and wet granite... 15.5% alcohol, but is able to play a little hide and seek. Actually a really good weight and mouth feel. Oak is definitely there, but doesn’t overpower and takeover. Cheers!
