Marchesi de' Frescobaldi

Luce della Vite Toscana Sangiovese Merlot 2020

Ripe red fruit, earthy with light smoke. An impressive wine for the price. — 10 months ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Decanted and simmered for hours. By Hour 3+ this broadened into a deep and luxurious wine. Ripe fruit - currant blackberry. Nice mouthfeel with some mineral residue. Not a long tail on this but it did linger still. Not particularly fragrant. A bit inward overall but all the pieces good and bad kinda fit together and it was nonetheless quite enjoyable. — 10 months ago

Mt. Brave

Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Staple in our house for weeknights. PNP. Black and red fruit, tannins are big but round and chalky, nice big and chewy mouthfeel. Good finish length. See my other comments but this excellent wine at a great price. — 10 months ago

Gaja

Ca'Marcanda Promis Toscana Sangiovese Blend 2021

Super Tuscan from Gaja. Wine has a dark ruby appearance. Classic red berry aromas with rustic components of leather and wet wood. On the palate it is full bodied, medium alcohol, medium tannins, medium acidity, with a medium red berry finish. Best wine for my Cacio e Pepe. — 10 months ago

Château de Bonnezeaux

La Montagne Chenin Blanc 2020

I return to this chenin on the regular. Zippy with opening peppery notes that ebb to a layered and perfumed floral element. Dry and high acid just as it should be — 10 months ago
