Philipponnat

Royale Réserve Brut Rosé Champagne Blend

Pale salmon with aromas of ripe berry fruits with floral mineral tones and a fine mousse. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors with nutty nuts, mineral and biscuit characteristics, bone dry and structured well. Full body, lively acidity on a medium length ending, crisp with fruit and yeasty mineral notes. — 5 years ago

Fattoria Selvapiana

Vigneto Bucerchiale Riserva Chianti Rùfina Sangiovese 2015

Sublime Sangiovese. Quite a rich vintage, but not over-egged in the least. Dark fruit, tannic undergirding, lovely structure. Attenuated nose that will likely blossom after you sock it away for a few, if you can resist pulling the cork now. — 5 years ago

Bevan Cellars

Harbison Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

This is easily my favorite Bevan wine. Gobs of fruit but short of overt sweetness. Relatively fine tannins. Dark fruits, cocoa. The best part is a graphite/tar note that emerges late with a nice acidity. — 5 years ago

Château La Pointe

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Cherry and red fruit on the nose. Definite earthen quality that predominates. Took a while to open up, but was beautiful once it did. Another one that could age for a few more years. — 5 years ago

El Enemigo

Mendoza Chardonnay 2017

Full of stone fruit such as peach, nectarine and apricot. Also a touch of cotton candy. It got better and more open knit as it got air — 5 years ago
