Very nice, lemony and mineral. Went very well with Branzino. — 5 years ago
Pale lemon; medium plus intensity aromas of green apple, lemon juice, lime zest, grapefruit, petrol, steely mineral, chalk, oyster shell; dry, high acid, low alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium finish, classic style, quite straightforward but an excellent example — 5 years ago

The bouquet on the 2016 Lucien Crochet Sancerre Le Chene Marchand showed a beautiful mix of young mango with wet stone, chalk dust, lime zest and hints of dried savory herbs. On the palate, I found rich weighty textures which were perfectly offset by zesty acidity and spice as a cascade of minerals, green apple, with hints of honey, lime and inner floral tones coated the senses. The finish was long as slightly oily textures slowly faded from the palate, leaving a coating of green citrus, with minerals and residual mouthwatering acidity. It's amazing now but I know this will only get better with a few years in the cellar. — 6 years ago

Clos Cibonne is the best rosé. Change my mind. Classic, utterly delicious combination of stonefruit, ripe citrus, profound notes of sea salt, herbs de Provence, and lavender. Of course refreshing, but its textural complexity and depth make for an almost umami-like experience on the palate. Served with whole roasted branzino, garden vegetables, and Tuscan white beans on night 1 and homemade foccacia pizzas on night 2. Both meals in the running for food/wine pairing(s) of the year (so far). — 4 years ago
