La Souteronne Vin de Pays de l'Ardèche Gamay

Pungent nose has a bit of barnyard and bigly tangy berry fruit. Some high-toned crumbly rock too. Lively and vigorous in the mouth, with the tangy element and crisp acids dominant. Nice with a garlicky grilled chicken warm pasta salad.

I like a bit of brett but this had WAY too much. It covered up all the other flavors.

Gamay with a Rhone sense of place

A lot of fruit with hints of natural funky.

Fruit is somewhat lost in the Brett. Maybe not the best bottle

Definitely its own animal. Has a ton of tannic/mineral structure but also lots of fresh, light, tart fruit. Nails that iris-y floral/vegetal Gamay thing, while still leaning towards olive/meatiness. And it all works. This may evolve, but my instincts are that this is a vintage for right now, when it's full of electric energy and all the parts are vibrating and tense and begging for your attention.

Killa freshy slakey.

Oregano, dencorub nose. Pizza shop body. Tingly marinara acid.

Bright and clean.

Juicy blue and black fruits, cherry pit, smoke and spice. Very different flavor profile than Beaujolais
