Delicious, but very tight and angular at present. Herbs, dark fruit, blood and mineral. Needs time, fantastic potential

Interesting Southern France wine. Aromas of pronounced berry and floral scents. On the palate raspberry and plum flavors, currant like. Aged in oak for about 20 months. Well balanced, still very tight, long finish but needs time to develop. Tasting Sample.

Forgot how much I love this wine. Gorgeous showing in its youth. Rich fruit, generous and still maintaining a presence of finesse and focus. Very “jolie.” All that lip-smacking is bound together but Tempier distinctive sauvage/earthy/herbal character. Really found the brett interlaced nicely too, very complimentary. Roasted black cherry and plum fruit, black fig, fur, worn leather, animal hide, tar, cooling herbs, cloves, garrigue. Found its grip to refined, more supportive than dominating.

Subtly floral on the nose, tart black fruit, under ripe black plum, - Super acidic, meaty, olive notes, dried savory herbs.

Decanted for 7h.
Nice aromatics of spices & leather. As expected, fruitless. Brilliant purity here with freshness & precision
Pure, austere & linear on the palate. With a firm tannic frame and brilliant, juicy acidity. Love the precision and the (firm) frame.
The complete opposite of plum & plush Languedoc or Rhone, but so nice.
Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love Bandol!

So much going on in this glass! Iron, barnyard, garrigue, black cherry, plum, leather, moist soil, dried flowers and herbs, spice, anise, and cocoa powder. A beautiful wine!

First Hummingbird April 27th! Earliest sighting for me!
