Gorgeous and floral nose. Sappy and pure, a bit bitter but just opened. Juicy.

Drank 1/18/19 at the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux event in Miami.  All wines from the 2016 Vintage.

Tasting pour, no formal notes taken.  Most of these wines are very tight, and will require 5-15 years to really come together.  Many will likely improve a few points with time.

One of the more structured of the Margaux wines tasted. Should come together nicely with some time.

Sipping Fine Wine

Located on a 300 hectare estate, the Giscours vineyard is located in the famous Margaux AOC and eventually included as a Third Growth in the 1855 classification. The young palate on this blend of 70% Cab Sauv, 25% Merlot & 5% Petit Verdot, note older vintages were 50/50 Cab/Merlot. Aromas of ripe berry fruits with subtle toasty oak notes. The tannins are smooth but needs development. The long complex finish shows potential over the next decade. Great now but wait and you will be rewarded.

First day - fairly closed. Dried flowers and a bit of oak on the nose. Dark fruit and a bit of oak in the mouth. Second day - far better. Flowers and a bit of spice on the nose. Bright red fruit, cassis, tannins and minerality. Long finish. Needs time, but a great wine - big upside.

Opens up to dark berries, cinnamon. Structured with medium tannins. Will be be even smoother if we age it for a few more years

T: bold fruit. More fruit than earth.
D: the earthiness comes out ahead of other flavors. Leather notes. Well rounded.
