Sipping Fine Wine

silvio Nardi founded the estate at Casale del Bosco; since 1985 it has been run by his youngest daughter, Emilia. 100% Sangiovese wine aged in oak for 2 years (12 months French & 12 months Slavonian oak), Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, oak and spice. Full-bodied wine with medium acidity, fine yet smooth tannins and a slight warmth of alcohol present. The ripe fruit flavors of cherry and strawberry are complex yet not overdone. Some cacao, tobacco and toasty appear on the long finish. Tasting Sample.

If I had to pick a house red to go with just about anything, on any occasion, this would be it. Classic brunello structure and tannins. Can’t imagine a dish that wants a red that wouldn’t benefit from it.

Cherries, strawberries, and touch of orange in a smooth and elegant dance. Finish just keeps on going and going.

Needs a lot of time in a decanter. Not particularly expressive even then. Good with pasta. Would wait another 5 years easy.
